Our Home
Studio Lab is the epicentre of Studio Vans’ creative, bespoke and organisational actions. Located on the Isle of Benbecula, an Island within the Hebridean Archipelago, the Studio Lab is a multi-faceted workshop space housing the centre of design and prototyping as well as working on the most tailored aspects of our van conversions.
Island Inspiration
The location of the Studio Lab on the edge of the Atlantic affords the inspiration behind the designs. Stylish practicality from a juxtaposed ragged coastline. An inspiration for adventure. The strong Island community, Gaidhlig culture and traditions along with the proximity to the natural world are a commanding influence on the ethos and philosophies of the Studio Lab. We strive to create designs that speak of the place and people who shape them. We design to bring people closer to nature, not destroy it. Therefore we always try to lessen our environmental impact, be it by using recycled Ocean Plastics direct from the Uist shores in our van conversions or through educational publications on responsible camping practices.

Where we’re based impacts everything we do. Our island constraints are the perfect breeding ground for creativity, fostering a spirit of collaboration and allowing us to appreciate the longer view.
